Been M.I.A. I've been stuck at home every single day so I thought what would be the best thing to capture right now if it's not my current situation itself (since I don't get to roam around with my camera anymore. I mean not yet).

So anyway, yeap I guess this picture evokes my "right-now." Tired, but still going on strong, I think. I can't wait to get back to my Canon and update this blog.

(p/s: The pictures on my living room wall are my photography work that I had printed for an assignment last year. Probably one of my best sets ever, but I haven't posted them here. Soon perhaps).

I've been going to this new cafe that just opened.. right in front of my apartment. I can even see my room from there! Thing is I still don't know the name of the cafe, heh. The staff already recognize me though coz I've been going there almost every week now. The breakfast focaccia is seriously, seriously superb.

Day trip to Port Dickson. We hung out at a friend's huge holiday house, did some crab-hunting (initially to scare off some friends who were still asleep), trampoline-sitting (because it was torn. haha) and bbq-preparation (I only helped prepare but didn't get to eat because I had to leave early). It was a relaxing day, getting out of KL although not that far.

p/s: Btw this is an overdue KL post. I'm already back in Melbourne :)

It has been raining cats and dogs here in KL. But we boldly picked Wednesday to go hiking because it was just one day before the CNY holiday started - yay lucky for us it didn't rain :) In fact, weather was beautiful and the experience was amazing. I am one person who has a fear of heights, and believe me I haven't done outdoor activities in ages, so I'm quite proud of myself for getting to the highest peak. Yes pancit, but didn't give up :)

And it was just us three girls. But damn, they made it look so easy. I have really strong, tough, adventurous school friends.

Spent one of my last few days in Melbourne with my former uni mate before I went back to KL. You know how they say, things can change in just one day. Imagine how much can change within a few months. Now she's got a job in an architecture firm, she has moved to a bigger house, she's got a bicycle which she cycles with to work every morning, she's gone for driving lessons, and got a driver's license, and she's got herself a car which she drives to the city every weekend. So basically, she's earning her own money and when we went to the Design Market that day she could buy everything she wanted, while I would just linger at that one booth contemplating for 20 minutes if I wanted to buy one small cheap item. Hahaha. Oh life. But she has always been very kind, sweet, helpful and funny since my first year of architecture in uni until now :)

I was back in Kuala Lumpur for about 3 weeks. It was a short but good break. Didn't really get the chance to take photos though. Hence, the long hiatus. But I was lucky to catch a quick glimpse of this beautiful sky at dawn while driving on the highway one day :) It was one of those lucky+quick moments where (a) KL wasn't raining (b) I was holding a camera.

Just got the chance to send one of my almost-abandoned used film rolls (Diana+ Lomo) for developing recently :) Most of the pictures were taken in Melbourne end of last year. Can't wait to experiment with the black & white film soon, for the first time.

Wish me luck for my final design crit next week. I've been feeling so angsty, my housemate said it even shows in my recent posts - Gloomy pictures. He said I need to take some photos of colourful flowers. ... ... . . .

I didn't take this photo but I'd like to share one of my many awesome findings. I was really blown away when I saw this. It depicts perfection. The place where the house sits creates a beautiful sense of picturesque - It doesn't make me want to wake up every morning looking at the view from the house, but instead, looking AT the house. It creates such a perfect natural framing. It straightaway becomes a part of the natural settings, being amongst the trees and the sky, like it really belongs there and no where else. I don't know how else I can explain my high admiration towards this great mergence between photography and architecture. Simply orgasmic. Honestly, my heart beats so fast every time I look at it. If ~~we're on the same page~~ you're just as weird as I am, you probably get the same feeling.

I tend to go to the bathroom without the lights switched on nowadays. But I got some candles lit. It evokes this experience where all your senses become alive because you cannot really see everything clearly, thus you tend to feel and look in a more focused sense, somewhat trying to discover things that you don't normally see when everything is clear and bright.

Today I was lucky to discover a little heart being cast by the lovely wax pattern from the candle. I guess this soft heart is telling me not to be so hard-hearted. Lol.

i watched these two films for the first time on the local channel when i was still in primary school. i was probably too young to have a favourite movie at that time. but these ones definitely triggered me, immediately. safe to say they are still in my all-time favourite list. last night, one of the movie channels here was showing the first movie. it was probably not as good as when i first watched it many many years back, but do you know the feeling of having your old favourite song played on a random radio station on a random night? exactly how i felt. like getting a little nice surprise :) (well, which actually led me to this post. i was reminiscing so i just thought of sharing)

later on i fell in love with these :) they never get old, never get boring. raw, in a good way. no cgi shit. something simply, purely epic about some of them. too bad they don't make these kind of films anymore.

Made a conceptual approach for the design process for this week's particular design brief. Execution was abstract, especially with its constraints of materials. Not the ordinary models we usually have to do. Before this model, I think the last time we got to put some fun in our architectural models was during our first year. So yay for this! The monthly trip to one of the best breakfast places EVER. Take a tram down to Middle Park stop, right after Albert Park. It's just right there with white timber walls and little cute chairs outside. You wouldn't really know that the tram stop is actually also a breakfast place, but now you would. Heh! Tram = Mart. Brilliant.

Thanks Yus for the lovely homemade THREE COURSE MEAL :) Tummy feeling very happy we ended up getting stuck on the couch watching a Bollywood movie, which got all of us pretty excited because it was shot in Melbourne. Try and picture this: singing and dancing on Bourke Street and Docklands in the middle of the night, in pyjamas, hunting for Ben&Jerry's... Yes, there is nothing they cannot do. Super hilarious.

Anyway, on an unrelated note (well this suddenly just popped up on my mind).

At one quick dinner at Mcd:
Me: Is tomato a fruit or vegie?
Kyreel & Din: Mmmm fruit?
Me: Yay correct.
Din: Is nasi tomato rice or tomato?
Me: *BURST OUT LAUGHING MY ASS OFF*

For some reason i found this very, very funny. Maybe i have an image of my round tomato soft toy in my head every time i hear the word tomato, i don't know. But now even reminiscing about this conversation is hurting my chest because I'm laughing too much.

i'm back. what a long hiatus.

KL: december january february, you've been pretty good to me. thank you. i miss you (yes including the heavy rain. i was kinda digging it), especially the food that was making my tummy happy all the time, and everything else in between. postponing my flight several times to extend my stay for several more weeks was definitely meant to be.

i drove a lot (you have no idea how BIG of an achievement this was), ate a lot, had a funny NYE celebration, played shitloads of futsal (lost 4 kilos when i was back wawee), karaoked more times than i could imagine, went hunting for food and animals with the lovely hunter, got a surprise pre-birthday celebration from my smellies, received countless lunch treats, became family driver & 'housewife' & personal assistant, finally moved house :) , had numerous breakfast sessions (surprisingly people managed to wake up early), got hit by a big bad BUS (no physical injuries but my car was obviously hurt and i was quite traumatized. nothing exciting about this, but it was a big highlight of my break), etc. i didn't go for a vacay at all but i was enjoying being in kl itself, til the very last day :) at first i was worried if i wouldn't know what to do there for so long, but eventually i found myself not getting enough of it. dear country, i will see you again real soon :)
